Simon Partington, CIM®, CFP®
Senior Wealth Advisor, Portfolio Manager
Simon began his career as an Associate at Richardson Partners Financial in 2005 where he learned the business through experience, continuing education and professional designations. In 2009 he partnered with a seasoned advisory team and worked through a six-year succession plan which saw their practice double in size. Since then, he has grown the practice and team significantly.
Simon takes a holistic approach to wealth management and conducts in depth assessments regarding the needs and potential risks facing successful families, professionals, and business owners. Simon places a high priority on understanding client needs first. He does this through the lens of tax & estate planning and providing a high level of service to clients as he helps guide them through various life events to ensure a seamless transition, whether it be, divorce, selling a business, managing an inheritance or adjusting to the financial changes brought on by retirement. Simon’s key roles also include asset allocation and investment selection with a disciplined process for buying and selling North American securities. More recently, Simon has been incorporating various alternative investments and non-traditional, non-correlated investment opportunities to reduce risk and volatility and achieve superior risk adjusted returns over longer periods of time.
Simon grew up in the Maritimes and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. Professional standards are high on Simon’s agenda, and he has earned both Chartered Financial Planner (CFP®) and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designations. Simon is also Insurance Licensed which helps round out the wealth planning approach.
Simon enjoys working with different charities, since living in Toronto he has been involved with Sheena’s Place, Regent Park Gala and East Coast Connected. As a new dad, he enjoys spending time away from the office with his daughters (Abby and Izzy) and wife (Laura).
